Coaching news for 2020

Sharks Netball is excited to announce that appointment of former Papua New Guinea National Coach, Richanda Kassman to the Club’s Head Coaching Role, effective from the 2020 Season.

After the success of an A Grade Premiership and 5 teams making it through to the finals in 2019, Sharks Netball is looking to continue to build on these successes.

The club wishes to acknowledge the skills and commitment of retiring A Grade Coach Jennie Kumar. Her knowledge has been invaluable in taking Sharks Netball to another level.

With an accomplished international career as both a player and coach, Ms Kassman brings a strong focus on the development and support of junior players as well as challenging and enabling elite players to grow their skills to the next level.

As PNG’s national coach Richanda took the PNG National team, the “Pepes”, to a Bronze medal at the Pacific Games in Samoa in 2019. Kassman also represented PNG herself as a player through 2008-2011, including at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi.

Sharks look forward to sharing Kassman’s wealth of coaching experience to also develop their coaching group throughout the club to benefit players now and into the future.
